Pictures

I long to post tons and tons of pictures but still can not. I have found though that I can post a few pictures it just takes a bit for them to load.

Using this verizon stick sure is like a cross between a dial up connection and slow broadband. There are times when it is fast enough and then other times when it is so slow that it makes me want to scream.

But if you missed it yesterday's blog got updated with pictures! I was able to get them to load and it didnt take all day!

check them out here.

And just because I can get a picture to upload lets try this one

Dreaming of new furniture...

Since we moved and I sold all my furniture I have been making do with what I have to use that was free to me. Its an old Day bed frame and the only mattress we brought with us. It is functional if not exactly the most comfortable piece of furniture.

I have been dreaming of ways to furnish my living room and I know that it wont happen just yet but it sure is fun to dream.

Today I was killing time and decided to check out Broyhill online and created a couch that I am now in LOVE with! I have no idea how much it costs but I had fun creating it. I chose the color of the fabric, the finish of the legs and the fabric choice for the throw pillows. Talk about a blast! No matter how hard I try I simply can not add the picture at this time. I am not certain if it is a blogger issue or if it is my verizon connection. I may try to come back later and add it again. Blogger's little box is not fully loading which is why I can not be certain where the issue is.
*update* here is the couch!

I also found a pair of completely adorable retro chairs on Craigslist that I am in love with. They would look adorable set on the wall with a table between the two as a little conversation area or extra seating in the living room. They are kiwi green and the throw pillows I chose on the couch would pick up the color nicely. I will try and upload those pictures later as well.

*update* HERE is the Kiwi Chair.

until then you will just have to imagine with me of adorable new living room furniture.

What type of posts do you like to read?

When you are looking for a new blog to follow what are your favorite types of blogs?

Are you searching for something in particular? Do you read for the writers style? Do you care about punctuation and grammar? Or is it all just about having fun?

Personally I enjoy a variety of blogs and am always looking for something new and interesting. I love creative people and being that I am creative myself I love to get ideas from others. I am constantly trying to find new blogs that are interesting and fun. I love a person who can have fun with their words. I enjoy a blog that isn't always just about one thing. I mean we as people are more then just one thing. We are layers of interesting thoughts and ideas.

I think that is why I was searching for a way to create my blog that would allow for my many different aspects of me could be displayed without being so completely random. I know that some people like to follow only one topic and I just can not stick to just one topic. I am to creative for that. I can not stick to writing about one topic on a certain day like I have seen others do. I am more of a "this is what I am in the mood to chat about right now" kinda gal.

So my few readers, what type of bloggers do you search for?

Also one more question... I have been thinking about removing the comment must be approved first deal. I love reading comments from people and I even enjoy replying to them but I find it annoying when I go to comment and the comment says it has to be approved. I also hate those little captulas they drive me nuts! But I do not want to deal with spammers either so this is my quandary. Thoughts?

Special people

Once in a while you come in contact with someone who is so special they touch your heart and help change your life in ways you never could have imagined.

It happened when I met my husband. He was so special in my life that I decided to marry him and stay with him for the rest of my life.

I have met people through many different avenues and from many walks of life. Some where rich, some were poor. Some are Pagans, some are Christians, even a few are Atheists.

I cherish each  friend and the time we get to be together. Even if its simply moments a week. I have met so many friends through social media and we have stayed in touch for so many years I vaguely remember a time when we were not in each others lives. I believe that people come into our lives for a reason. I also believe that those reasons are not always clear to us.

One such friend who I met about 6 years ago through Myspace (that antiquated social network that nobody uses any longer) has become one of my dearest friends. She is the one who invited me to move to Virginia and has helped us get settled here. She is the one that I am willingly working so hard for up at the cabin. I am so glad that a chance meeting on a social network 6 years ago has resulted in this new life of mine. I feel like Alice only I didn't fall into some strange wonderland, I fell into a beautiful new life. One I have dreamed of for many years now.

I have always felt that my friend and I would one day meet and we tried several times to think of a way to help facilitate it. I never dreamed I would get to be lucky enough to be her neighbor! I am truly blessed in this life. I only hope that I give back as much as has been given to me.

Remember to cherish your friendships, no matter what form they are in because they do blossom into beautiful flowers that enrich your life.

a few changes

I am trying to fix the time on my blog and still have not been successful, if any of you know how this might be done please clue me in.

recap- I moved from the west coast to the east coast. This has caused my blog to claim that I am making blog posts at un-natural hours. I know its not a real big deal but it is kind of annoying to me.

I also added a few of my favorite blogs over there---->
I took a few away since I just don't read those blogs anymore.

I think that my favorite new blog has got to be Cass over at That Old House. I have spotlighted her before but I simply love the house and her. She is a delightful blogger and I love the blogs shes putting out lately. Her daughter is getting married soon and she is posting such lovely pictures of her home as it gets dressed up for the event, new flowers in the yard and pretty rugs in the parlor.

I also added the lovely Shady Lady over at Unschooling Royalty. I love her blogging style and since she is a fellow unschooler who tends to do things a lot like I do its nice to have someone else as a reference.

I hope that you all enjoy their blogs as much as I do.

* my blogs that I follow post according to who has posted the most recently so they are not in any particular order, just most recent on down.*

Good Morning!

I finally woke up at a decent hour this morning. I didn't over sleep I woke up bright and early and I don't even feel exhausted.

I woke up let the dogs out the back door, left the slider open so they could come back in without me having to hear barking.

I got my cup of tea to start the day, todays choice was chocolate chai tea.

I sat down at my dining room table with my ladder back chairs that are still screaming at me to be white! I opened my laptop and was preparing to come write this blog when a lovely little bright red cardinal came and perched on my porch railing and sang me a little tune. I must say that we do not have cardinal's in California so for me they are a delight to see. Their bright read heads with the pointy feathers. I know nothing about them other then they are red with yellow beaks, and they seem to love to clean up crumbs.

I want to get my camera out and take pictures but then I remembered that I can't upload them and by the time I went for the camera the bird was gone.

Yesterday from my same vantage point I saw a giant yellow and black butterfly land on the tree right off my deck and it just sat there. I do not know if it was just hanging out taking a break or what but it was almost as big as the leaf and it was so pretty.

The nature around me sure makes it easy to enjoy life. Even on the days when my arm wants to fall off! :)

Painting

Makes my arm want to fall off my body.

I am helping my friend at the their cabin to get it ready for people to move in and it needed LOTS of paint.

I painted all day yesterday and again this morning and now my arm wants to fall off.

I keep telling it that it must stay put, but it does not believe me.

I have to paint more tomorrow when we finish getting stuff put away and I can get to the corner that has supplies in it.

what glue is best for forcing an arm to stay put?

Finally!

I didn't think Blogger would EVER get the problem fixed. I am so addicted to reading my blogs that it was some strange vortex while I couldn't get my blogger to open.

I am stuffed from baked potatoes and meat loaf.

Does anyone else think its wrong that its called meat loaf?

Or that it sounds disgusting to call it a loaf of meat?

I lost at Phase 10 today...

I Won at Earthopoly though so it all works out...

That's a wrap for tonight.

Wooo Hoooo!

I managed it! I got all the boxes (except pictures) unpacked! Everything is packed into storage containers if they are not needed immediately and placed under the house in 'storage', or put away in its respective places.

I am still in need of some fabulous storage but I have a few tuppers that didn't have lids anymore. (they fell apart on the way from California) Those are being used as my linen closet right now. Stacked on top of my washer, which may very well be what holds it in place as it spins at 2000rpm's to drain my clothes.

I am in need of a few sunny days so that I can paint some chairs, paint some walls, paint my handmade closet, hmm anything else I need to paint? .... No I think thats everything!

I need to find that bag of brackets that hold up my curtains so that I can put those up in the dining room instead of these blinds that drive me batty. Those blinds, you know the ones that break if you touch them, rattle if the wind blows through them and with 4 kids and 4 dogs they are bound to end up trashed!

I am itching to get some more of this painting done and just can not bring myself to do it with rainy grey days. I have to many kids and dogs t do it indoors so for now I must live with ugly dark green ladder back chairs that have been scuffed up to accept my paint, and patched walls in the living room and my bedroom, as well as ply wood wall panel for the closet. At least until the sunshine shows itself for more then a half a second. It needs to be warm enough to paint outside and have it dry before the rain shows up again.

It feels good to have the boxes out of my dinning room... I can not wait to have it all pulled together and pretty! how exciting will that be!

To separate or not to separate, that is the question

No I am not talking about my marriage!

I am talking about my blog. When I started this blog I originally wanted to be able to just have tabs at the top with different links to my many interests. That is not something I have figured out how to do here on blogger. I admit I am still a novice but I have done a lot of reading and not found a way to do what I had wanted to do.

At least not how I intended to do it.

I am now wondering if I should have a separate blog for homeschooling, one for all my cooking, and one for my crafting... It would at least make it easier for people to find certain topics or just follow what interests them.

Or should I leave the blog as it is and just continue to randomly post blogs that happen to be where my life is at this moment?

Comment and let me know what you think. Or if you know of a way to create a separate tab at the top for each topic so that all blogs can fall in that category then by all means let me know.

Longing

I long to get the sewing machine out.

I want to sew curtains, and pillows, and a laptop case, not to mention the *nearly* finished apron that I couldn't get done before we moved and the jean and floral print skirt I have sitting pinned but not sewn together yet in my box.

I want a couple of days of sunny weather to break out paint and paint my ladder back chairs.

I want to find adorable fabric to recover the chair seats with. I don't want the fabric to cost to much and I want it to coordinate with the yellow on the walls.

More importantly I long to have the rest of the house unpacked so that I can delve into these craft projects that are calling my name.

I also long to place photos in my blogs and on facebook once again. I miss sharing my finds, my craftiness, my cooking, my schooling, and my life with my online friends, family and loved ones.

I keep telling myself ... Soon! But tonight it feels like its a long way away and I long to be childish and just say no to the chores that need to be done and YES to the fun that is calling for me.

Happy Mothers day!

I just wanted to wish all the moms of the world a Happy Mothers day!

My wonderful husband made me breakfast and my Mom is here so we got to sit together at the New To Me table and chairs and have breakfast with my kids, her only grandkids! It was so nice to have home made french toast and hashbrowns and oj. I am grateful to be mom to four wonderful kids and to have such a kind caring husband.

I still have a few boxes to unpack and as soon as I have some storage items to use I can unpack them. There are no closets except in the bedrooms which means I get the opportunity to shop for a few items to repurpose! Its a crafting project waiting to happen! I am so excited.

I still do not have regular internet so I can not upload pictures. They just take far to long to load using my Verizon Stick. I have been taking pictures so as soon as I get internet I will have to do a few blogs of nothing but pictures!

Until next time, I am busy as a bee and hoping to get crafting soon! My "New To Me" dining room chairs need to be painted and re-upholstered so that is the first project on the list! Pictures to come *soon*...

Have a Happy Mother's Day to all my followers.
