Happy 236th Birthday Marine Corps

I had wanted to post a lovely post like I did last year with some more facts about the Corps but being in the midst of boxes and not having a ton of time to sit down and compose such a thing I am just going to share the blog from last year again.

I do hope you all don't mind.

Happy 236th Birthday Marine Corps. To my husband I love you and will always be the supporting force behind your Marine Corps Career.

Birthday Boy

Today my sweet little baby turns 7. How time does fly!

I remember the day perfectly. He wasn't born until night time. 7 years ago today I spent the entire day in labor. I woke up at 6:30 am and was clearly in labor. I called my midwife and told her that today was the day and that she should get to my house soon.

Yep thats right folks, I had my youngest at home with a midwife. I was home in my own bed relaxing. I even slept through transition and woke up when he was ready to be born. I had no drug interventions, no IV, nothing but my family supporting me. My parents and sister came and stayed at the house until he was born.

My youngest is my sweetest child. He has a big heart and is always concerned about others around him. He is content in this life to just do what he wants. He loves music and he has taught himself to play instruments on sound alone. He is quiet amazing!

For some reason it is his birth that makes me feel old. I know I am not old, I am only in my mid 30s but man o man do I feel old. I am blessed to be this little ones mom. I look forward to what the rest of his life will bring.

Now off to bake a cake for the little man. He wants vanilla cake with chocolate frosting... So I shall go and create something that tastes devine... not sure how "pretty" it will be though. Cake decorating is NOT my strong suit.

Happy Birthday~

Today is the love of my lifes Birthday. It is also my Brother in Law's birthday. They share their birthday, which is odd to most people and just fun for us.

Today we will do little things around the house and just try to relax. We will enjoy time off together and I will bake him a cake, or a pie (he hasn't decided which yet) And his favorite meal. Then we will sit down together and enjoy.

Having the weekend off is a rare treat because he has been working so much that he has not had much time off.

Up in just over a month we have the birthday of my youngest son and then in October is my oldest's and we are finished for the year.

I will come back and post pictures of whatever delicious creation I come up with for his birthday celebration.

Birthday's Are Important Around Here!

Today is the Spitfire's Birthday!

This is Spitfire & her Dear friend in California Sari
The Spitfire was born a month late! She was so tiny because she lost weight in utero. It is rare but can happen and its a good thing I finally got her evicted when I did. At Birth she weighted in at a whopping 5lbs 12 oz.

She still isn't much bigger then a half a minute but what she lacks in size she makes up for in personality!

She is a chatterbox. She is not afraid of anything! I mean anything! she had a tooth pulled yesterday and barely flinched. She loves trees and climbs them often. She loves to wear dresses and doesn't understand why she shouldn't wear them to play outside in. She is crazy and funny and has the funniest sense of humor. She has an adorable smile and the prettiest blue/green eyes.

I often feel like she got the short straw when it came to birth order. She is 6 years younger then her big brother and only 14 months older then her baby brother. I was pretty worn out with a new baby and she just didn't get enough of me as a toddler. We all do the best we can and I can't change what was but sure work towards making it different now.

For her birthday she special requested The German Chocolate Beet Cake find it here, for her birthday cake. So bright and early this morning she put on her new apron, and helped me bake the cake. I need to make the frosting still, you can find that recipe here. I have her favorite meal cooking already, Taco's with the meat cooked all day in the crock pot.

When her dad comes home we will celebrate the day of her birth. She was born at a bright early hour in the morning so she is already 8 years and hours old. :)

Happy Birthday to my wonderful Spitfire. I am blessed to be your momma and I love you.

Such a special gift

My daughter the bookworm sat down last night and created the most amazing birthday gift for me in a few hours time. I thought I would share it with you all.

The color seems a little off and I will take another picture of it to show it in a different light later. She used acrylic paint on canvas and created it out of her own imagination. I will cherish it forever as the best birthday gift I have ever gotten.

Another year older

Today is my birthday! So todays blog is going to be one that I come back and post pictures of. I plan on taking a walk somewhere where there are beautiful things all over the place and take lots of pictures. I know that I am getting a fantastic lunch and that I will be spending my day with people I love. So stay tuned for shots of the world around me on my special day.

Well I forgot my camera when we went in to have our lunch so there will be no pictures of my glorious lunch. My husband took the kids and I too a wonderful Japanese place in town and I ate tempura veggies, rice, salad and tried 3 kinds of sushi. It was wonderful!

We did drive over at sunset though and I got to take some wonderful pictures of the sun setting over the smallest complete mountain range in all the world, The Sutter Buttes.

Happy Cows~ California Happy Cows!
The sun is just going down over the hill.

The fog rolling in

An owl sitting in the tree at dusk

The fog creeping in, with multi colors from the setting sun

Sunset's reflection.
(now if there were only no power lines in the shot!)

I hope that you all enjoyed the pictures I took today on my birthday! I enjoyed myself today more then I have in a long time. I hope to get out with my friend the camera and try some more shots soon. I have one shot of that owl there that I would like to play with and see if I can clean it up before I post it. perhaps I will do that soon. :)

If your a friend and you have a special memory you would like to share then I would love to hear it. Just post a comment and I will be sure to read it when I come back later with my photos to share. :)
