Google+

So over the week and weekend I still fought off a really nasty head cold that tried hard to turn into some form of strep throat.

I also got invited to the new social networking site Google+ If you have never heard of it don't feel bad, a lot of people haven't. It seems to have a lot more control over who in your friends list sees what comments, and who you socialize with is more easily controlled. It also can interface with the other social networking sites and gives you more privacy options. Say you don't want your family to know whats going on in that private group of friends you hang out with, or You don't want the boss or people at work to know about what you did on Saturday You only share what you want with the circles of friends you want to share it with.

I am not sure if it will take over as the main social networking site but I do like some of the control options I have over at g+ as opposed to those over at Facebook.

Have any of you ventured onto Google+ ?

  2. Well like all new social networking sites there is a huge learning curve. I remember the first time I went to facebook from myspace. I swore I would never join facebook it seemed way to public and open. It is one of the things that I have hated for a long while about facebook. However it is hard to have a social network when a lot of your friends are not on there yet. We shall see.

  5. When a friend signed up G+ automatically published all the photos from all of her blogs, including a private blog that only she had access to and a private family blog. When she realized that, she removed the folders of photos from her profile. That then deleted the photos from her blog and those were the only copies of the photos she had. G+ says there is no way to recover. She is just screwed. :-/

  6. YIKES! good to know.

I dont have any private blogs or pictures that are not shared on my blog so that isn't really a concern for me. However I understand and appreciate the information so that I can be more aware of that problem. Thanks for sharing. :)

  7. I've heard a lot about Google+ lately. I actually requested an invite just to check it out, but I have been snubbed (sigh). :) Those features sounds helpful though.

  8. I have a feeling that it will be picking up steam here soon.

There is a way to leave feedback and get in touch with them that is a lot easier then facebook has too.

Sorry to hear you were snubbed... I freely invite anyone I can. I can always put you in a circle and not share info with you if I don't want to. :) lol
